Type Locality and Naming
Lithology and Thickness
Massive, highly mature, fine- to medium-grained quartzitic sandstones displaying large-scale aeolian cross-bedding. Thickness varies significantly but can reach up to nearly 100 meters in the Waterberg area.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
overlies the Triassic red beds of the Omingonde Fm in the Waterberg Basin
Upper contact
In many areas, like the Waterberg Plateau, it forms the modern erosional capping surface.
Regional extent
Central and northwestern Namibia (particularly prominent in the Waterberg, Huab, and Goboboseb areas). Upper Stormberg Gr equivalent. Regionally equivalent to the Clarens Fm in the Main Karoo Basin (South Africa) and the Botucatu Fm in the ParanĂ¡ Basin (Brazil).
